Jan 14 2019 Metsec to attend Tall Buildings Conference On 30th April 2019, voestalpine Metsec plc will be attending the Tall Buildings Conference in London. Tall buildings present unique challenges in terms of both design and construction. Their sheer scale demands that particular attention is paid simultaneously to strategic and detailed issues. Tall Buildings Conference is intended to assist engineers in understanding the common challenges associated with transferring standard engineering principles and knowledge from low-rise structures to tall buildings. Tall Buildings Conference will highlight design and building technology innovation in the UK high-rise sector – facilitating learning and knowledge transfer plus providing a platform for discussion and debate. Tall Buildings Conference is aimed at: major city developers, investors, local authorities, and architects, engineer and contractors that are focusing on the delivery of tall buildings. Metframe is a pre-panelised system which is used to provide the load bearing structure for low to medium rise structures. The system uses the studs in the same way as load bearing SFS, except they are bolted together off site to form panels. The incorporation of heavier gauge studs and the bespoke designs allow structures to be constructed up to 15 storeys in height. Metframe structures can incorporate steel joisted or concrete floors, depending on the client’s requirements. Joisted floors will offer a much lighter structure, but concrete floors generally provide a higher level of acoustic and fire protection. Pitched, dormer or flat roofs can be readily incorporated in Metframe structures as well as balconies, cantilevers, insets etc. We will be exhibiting at the event taking place on 30 April 2019 in London – and would like to see you there!
