Successful CCPI assessment for Metframe

voestalpine Metsec’s commitment to ensuring that product information is conveyed in a clear, unambiguous fashion has been further underlined with the addition of its Metframe pre-panelised framing solution to the company’s expanding list of products and systems which have been successfully assessed under the Code for Construction Products Information (CCPI).

Introduced by the Construction Products Association in response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, set up following the Grenfell Tower tragedy, CCPI has been established to help organisations drive for higher standards in the presentation of construction product information, with a priority on building safety.

CCPI assessments are undertaken by assessors from Construction Products Information Ltd. and are carried out on a company’s specific products and systems, not the company as a whole. As such, an organisation or brand cannot, in itself, gain assessment or make any claims of compliance beyond a specific product set.

Metframe’s successful assessment follows a company-wide drive which has included the introduction of new systems and resources aimed at providing specifiers, installers and users of voestalpine Metsec’s construction systems with total confidence in the systems’ capabilities and suitability for their projects.

At the heart of this lies a policy of continuous investment in independent performance testing, including fire resistance, and quality assurance which keeps voestalpine Metsec’s construction solutions at the forefront of the construction industry.

The assessment process considers the information a company provides for a given product set and assesses this against CCPI criteria, or requirements. For Metframe, a total of 109 individual product references were assessed, including stud and joists, track, Z profiles and angles.

Across the entire product set, Metframe achieved the highest possible scores, with assessors noting the ease with which the website can be navigated, clarity of product literature and the range of supporting documentation, including Eurocodes, Design Codes and third-party certifications via the Buildoffsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS) certificate.

Chris Holleron, Sales Director for voestalpine Metsec’s Framing Division, states, “Metframe is the construction industry’s leading offsite framing system for low to medium rise structures, providing a flexible, rapid and cost-effective solution for a wide variety of projects, including residential developments, student accommodation, hotels and care homes.

“It is supported by a wealth of technical performance data and product information with a comprehensive library of independent test data.

“It is our job to ensure that this information is presented in a clear fashion and available in accessible formats to ensure that specifiers, installers and users derive the maximum benefits that Metframe can deliver for their projects.

“This successful CCPI assessment for Metframe comes close on the heels of the recent equally successful assessment of SFS, demonstrating our commitment to the integrity of the information we provide and providing additional assurance in our construction solutions.”
