Feb 21 2022 Top marks for voestalpine Metsec voestalpine Metsec’s SFS, Purlins, Metframe, Cable Management, Dry Lining and Custom Roll Forming divisions has attained top marks across all categories of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) following a recent inspection by scheme monitors. Supported by all areas of the building industry, including contractors, suppliers, local; authorities and the government, the CCS is a voluntary scheme which aims to raise standards in the construction industry by holding its members to a voluntary code of practice covering respect for the community, care for the environment and value of the workforce. The scheme is policed by a team of monitors and operates a rigorous complaints procedure which can result in non-compliant members facing the ultimate sanction of termination of their CCS registration. The team comprises a cross-section of senior people from all disciplines within the construction industry, including architects, engineers, contractors and surveyors. Monitors visit registered construction sites, companies and suppliers to assess their operations against the three core sections of the CCS Code of Considerate Practice. Respect for the community stipulates that constructors must manage their impact on their neighbours and the public to support a positive experience. Care for the environment states that Constructors must minimise their impact and enhance the natural environment. Value their workforce requires Constructors to create a supportive, inclusive, and healthy workplace. During assessments, each section of the code of practice receives marks from a possible fifteen, giving a total achievable maximum of 45. voestalpine Metsec achieved top marks in all areas, scoring the maximum 45 marks and a designation as ‘excellent’. The monitor’s report summarised voestalpine Metsec’s achievement by stating, “The company demonstrate through its numerous external accreditations effective process and controls with regards to all aspects of the Code of Considerate Construction. “Worthy of particular mention is its commitment to achieving Net Zero and the responsible sourcing of construction products.” voestalpine Metsec’s Quality and BIM Compliance Manager, Alan Harris comments, “The excellent CCS rating recognises Metsec’s commitment to our community, environment and workforce. “It underlines the sustained investment we make in our operations with the aim of being the best we can be in all areas.
